PLANET LONGING: THE EXPLORATION
A PASSION PROJECT BORN FROM THE HAUNTING LONGING THAT HAS INSPIRED ME TO HOPE AND DESPAIR MY WHOLE LIFE. ONE OF A KIND REFLECTIVE ART CREATIONS THAT ARE EXPLORATIONS OF WORLDS I DREAM OF. DIFFERENT COLORS, NAMES, TRAITS, FEELINGS ALL BELONG TO THESE DIFFERENT PLANETS. HUMAN LIMITATIONS MEANS I WILL NEVER SEE OR VISIT THESE WORLDS I DREAM OF – SO I CREATE THEM.
In these artworks, I explore the concept of hope emerging from the depths of despair. there is a voice within me that mourns the things I personally will never see. I have mourned for places and I have mourned for people who may yet never exist. Yet, a softer voice reminds me of the endless light still to come. Shiny new worlds being born, star light that is still on it’s way to being seen.
This voice insists that even though we may not personally get to see the beauty, it is still worth celebrating. It is still worth dreaming about.
When this voice of creation is honored the work begins.
